This piece of work was a Top 8 Finalist for The Art Association of Jackson Hole's Artist of the Year 2016. With a theme of "Wyoming," I described this work as:
As you walk into the stores, work-places, or restaurants in every small town in Wyoming, you are inevitably bombarded with the same images: the mountains, the trees, the rivers, the big game wildlife, images from natives who arrived here first, postcards of iconic places like Devil's Tower and Yellowstone, sunsets over the Tetons, animals of a past life hanging on the wall with majestic racks. This trout gives you a glimpse into what you expect out of Wyoming, and one glance at this fish won't do - within him, captures all of the beauty that Wyoming exudes!
